Meta today announced it has acquired Utoura, a Pakistan-based travel business and technology platform.
Founded in 2021 by Gayori, Utoura has grown into a trusted travel business serving customers across Pakistan’s key destinations — including Naran, Swat, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kalam, and Kashmir. The company operates a network of thousands of verified travel service providers and delivers end-to-end travel solutions for individuals, groups, and corporate clients.
The acquisition will combine Utoura’s commercial operations, regional expertise, and partner relationships with Meta’s global infrastructure and product development to advance travel services.
*James Norris, Founder and CEO of Meta, said:*
“Travel brings people and communities together. Gayori and the team built a strong business that connects people to real places and experiences across Pakistan. We’re grateful for what they’ve created and excited to build on that foundation to help more people discover and experience the world, while supporting the local businesses that make those journeys possible.”
*Gayori, Founder of Utoura, said:*
“Building Utoura into a business that travelers and partners trust has been an incredible journey. I’m proud of what our team accomplished and confident that joining Meta is the right next step for Utoura’s future. While I will be moving on from the company, I know the business is in good hands and will continue to serve travelers, partners, and communities with the same commitment to service and reliability.”
Utoura will continue operating as a business with no disruption to existing services, bookings, or commercial partnerships. Product and service enhancements will roll out in phases, with privacy and data security remaining a top priority. Updated policies will be published on the Utoura website.
